Elephantine Bakery is a European-inspired bakery and café  in downtown Portsmouth, NH. Founded in 2018, what started as an idea for a European-style café on the charming New England Seacoast gradually grew into more—a place for people to commune with life’s simple and enduring pleasures—food, company, conversation, and the luxury of moments lived not rushed. It is in this enchanting alley, in a small shop with five tables, that the idea of a modern café based on timeless principles took root.

We are known for our handcrafted pastries, croissants, breads, and unique breakfast and lunch offerings — all served in a time-swept, elegant setting rooted in genuine hospitality and the art of welcoming.
